OUR ENVIRONMENT

Let us observe a minute of silence to reflect on the very reason for this wonderful event.
A Reflection Day!
What can you do to
show you care about the environment and contribute to its health and longevity?
Many people say we
should save our environment, but do NOTHING?
They are standing
still, HOPING something is going to change by itself.
Have you ever
thought about how your choices affect the earth’s wellbeing and
How you can minimize
the impact you and your family make on the environment?
How about your
health and that of your children?
How about the
quality of your life and that of other citizens around the world?
How about the air
you breathe every second and the water you drink often?
So I ask myself, as
I want you to ask yourself too,
What am I doing
wrong?
What am I doing
right?
What are we not
doing together?
What are we supposed
to do?

Our lives are at
stake, we just don’t know yet.
The growing threat
of environmental degradation means everyone must reassess their environmental
impact and daily choices.
Consequently, it is
clear to see that the environment is of paramount concern for us all.
If we don’t care for
our environment, who will?
Who will preserve
the quality of the air that we share in common?
Who will restore our
natural resources?
Who will help make
the planet safe for many generations to come?

I will!
You will!
We will!
Ultimately, harm to
the natural environment comes about from the collective detrimental practices
of the earth’s seven billion inhabitants because of our quest for economic
development.
A fact we are
familiar with.
Changing such
behaviors is a very complicated process yet simple, involving awareness,
community participation, individual’s socialization, incentives and
constraints, as well as upholding basic
values, worldviews, attitudes, and beliefs about the environment.
We must come to
terms with the reality of resource limitation and the ecosystem carrying
capacities, and must take in to account the needs of future generations.
I leave you with these
words,
‘When we as individuals understand the true value of
where we call home, then we can harness its maximum potentials.’
